With the wide range of entertainment options available on the OTT platforms these days, the viewer is spoiled for choice. There has to be something really interesting and different for the movie to grab eyeballs. Chhalaang is a movie that we feel definitely manages to make the cut. Read on for details of Chhalaang.
Plot of Chhalaang
The plot is set in a small town in Haryana. Mahinder Hooda aka Montu (Rajkumar Rao) is a PT teacher in a Government-funded school. Montu has got the job through the recommendation of his influential lawyer father played by Satish Kaushik. For Montu the job is just a ‘timepass’, he is happy to let his students do whatever they want, and is all too happy to give off the PT period to other teachers for their subjects.
In his free time, Montu is also a self-styled vigilante who visits local parks and does his bit of ‘moral policing’. Things are drifting along in the school when in walks a pretty computer teacher named Neelima ( Nushrat Bharucha). Predictably Montu is enamoured by her but things start on the wrong foot between them. It turns out that one of his moral policing actions had been against her parents, which she cannot forgive, at least not yet.
In comes a typhoon in the life of Montu in the form of the super confident I.M. Singh ( Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) who has been hired as a sports coach by the Principal. Montu is asked to work under him, which he does not like. It is then on a war of wits and words between the two, for the position as well as for the attention of the computer teacher.
The Plot then moves on to the climax in a face-off between two teams on the playground, one team coached by Singh and the other by Montu.
Watch the movie to know what happens in the end. Does Montu emerge victorious? Does he win the attention of his lady love?

Our Thoughts About Chhalaang Amazon Prime
Chhalaang is definitely worth a watch. Though it starts a bit slowly, it picks up momentum along the way. It strikes a chord with the subject that is quite familiar to most viewers. PT as a subject has been in most schools afforded a step-motherly and casual attitude. Sports need to be given its due position in the school curriculum and this is possible only with the support of understanding parents and inspiring teachers.
A simple and predictable story is lifted up with some witty writing and good direction packed with natural performances. The children do a great job as they are pitted against each other in a tournament that consists of three games. The competition makes for some inspiring moments and adds tempo to the film.

Rajkumar Rao is my favorite actor of recent time. The plot of this movie sounds so relatble. Will watch it for sure and let you know how I liked it.
Sounds quite interesting. I was looking for something light to watch over weekend. This sounds best for my plan
I was planning to watch this movie this weekend, didn’t get time this week. There are so many good movies releasing, hope chhalang meets the expectations.
I also saw Chhalaang recently on Amazon Prime and liked the movie. Rajkumar Rao was fantastic in the role of a Physical Training (PT) teacher; it is good to see him in light-hearted comedies like this. Sports as a genre needs to be highlighted in movies and Chhalaang made a good attempt in this regards.
Just watched Chhalaang. A movie in a year with such a brilliant message. ” It always seems impossible until it’s done. Winners never quit ” What a motivational movie #Chhalaang
I have watched this movie recently. Although the whole agenda of the movie was good, it was slow-paced. Did not find it much interesting. Although this is completely my opinion. It can be way better.
Excellent cast and the story line looks so much fun. Thanks for sharing this one
There are 2 reasons why I am going to watch this one. First I have read rave reviews. Second I love Nushrat Barucha 😃
I liked watching Chhalaang and it was nice ride. It was not something that the hero does extraordiniary things. It was a simple and fun watch.
I was planning to watch challang and see what I stumble upon? A fantastic review. I will not waste time and go grab a seat to watch challang.
