The plot is set in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh. A new Forest Officer, Vidya Balan takes charge and is soon in the thick of a man-animal conflict. Review of Sherni – To Watch or Not Watch?

Sherni is not your usual Bollywood masala movie replete with songs, dances, and melodrama. So if you are looking for that kind of entertainment, then do not watch Sherni, it is not for you. It will seem like a wildlife documentary to you.

However, if you are interested in serious cinema and are passionate about the environment and wildlife conservation, you must watch Sherni. It lays threadbare the nexus between politicians, corrupt and spineless bureaucrats, and other riff-raff that are eating away at the very foundations of our systems like a swarm of termites.

If you are interested to know more about the animal-man conflict, its repercussions, and the politics involved, then Sherni is sure to appeal to you. Sherni is a no-frills, realistic film that brings to the limelight issues that are more often than not glossed over, as they involve animals, who have no voice.

If you want to get a feel of the jungles of Madhya Pradesh, you must watch Sherni. If you are looking for impeccable acting, then watch Sherni for realistic performances from Vidya Balan and the supporting cast.
