Indian Halwa Recipes – Vermicelli Halwa
This is an easy-to-cook Indian Halwa made from vermicelli.
Ingredients Required
1. Vermicelli 500gms
2. Mawa 250gms
3. Sugar 250gms
4. Milk 2 cups
5. Ghee 1/2 cup
6. Cardamoms 6
7. Silver foil 1
Cooking Method
Put ghee (clarified butter) in a thick pan & fry vermicelli and Mawa or Khoya together till it is golden brown. Add sugar and powdered cardamoms and stir well. In the end, add milk and keep stirring all the time till the mixture becomes thick.
Decorate with silver foil and serve hot or cold as desired.
Indian Halwa Recipes – Bread Halwa
The simple and boring bread can be given an exciting makeover with this recipe and be transformed into a tempting dessert called Bread halwa.
Ingredients Required
1. Bread 12 slices
2. Milk 1 liter
3. Sugar 1 1/2 cup
4. Powdered cardamom 1/2 tsp
5. Ghee for frying
6. Almonds 5
7. Pistas 5
8. Rasins 10
9. Cashewnuts 10
Cooking Method
Deep fry bread slices in ghee till golden brown and soak them in milk for one hour. Add cream and cook on a medium fire, stirring slowly all the time. Add 3 tbsp of ghee and keep stirring till it leaves the side of the pan. Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.

Ingredients Required
1. 1 cup sooji
2. 1 cup sugar
3. 1 cup ghee
4. 3 cups water
5. A pinch of Kesar aka Saffron
6. 10 almonds
7. 6 cardamoms
Cooking Method
Boil sugar, water, Kesar, and cardamoms and keep them aside. Put ghee into a thick pan and add sooji. Keep stirring all the time till sooji becomes slightly brown. Add the syrup and stir fast till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Garnish with almonds before serving.

Ingredients Required
1. Maida 2 cups
2. Water 2 cups
3. Pineapple juice 2 cups
4. Ghee 2 cups
5. Finely cut pineapple pieces
6. A pinch of Kesar
7. Cashewnuts 10
8. Almonds 10
9. Cardamoms 10
10. Few cherries for decoration
Cooking Method
Mix maida, sugar, pineapple juice, and water together. Put it in a thick pan and keep it on low fire, stirring all the time. When the mixture starts getting thick, add pineapple pieces and ghee little by little, stirring all the time till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Serve it on a dish and decorate it with dry fruits and cherries.
